Many
continue to rebound between losing weight and gaining weight without
finding what they are looking for. The problem is that many diets attempt
to make everything look much more complicated than it is. Let's break
it down here.
First,
it is a mistake to think that not eating will help you lose weight.
Eating good foods feeds the fire of your metabolism. In fact, not eating
will make your body burn your muscles for fuel. The reason for this
is because muscles take twice as many calories to maintain themselves
as does fat, so when your body goes into starvation mode, it starts
burning the most needy - muscle.
Second,
you should never eat more than 500 calories below your maintenance level.
To find what your level is, click on the calculator to the left. If
you eat less than that, your body may shift into starvation mode.
Third,
you must incorporate cardio into your routine if you want to lose weight.
This will help rev up your metabolism. Dieting alone will not get you
where you want to be.
Fourth,
it is important to incorporate some kind of weight lifting regimen to
1) prevent osteoporosis down the road and 2) because muscle burns fat.
The more muscle you have, the more fat you'll burn.
Sure,
there are many more details, and we could get into what energy sources
your body utilizes, etc. but we just want to get you to understand the
basics here. These basics demonstrate why I built this program in the
first place. I see so many workout sites or cardio sites or diet sites,
but none that incorporate everything together. I hope this helps you
on your road to fitness!
